I started my career as an AmeriCorps VISTA at at non-profit called Year Up based in Boston, MA. I served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Executive Director there for a few years before transitioning to a role in talent development and operations at our growing Bay Area site. There, I helped to grow our footprint across the Bay Area and really began my career in "people" work. I was responsible for developing and hosting monthly staff development days, for moving strategic initiatives along, and supported our staff in whatever they needed. In 2015, a new team emerged on our National HR team called "Staff Learning". I joined the team and developed and piloted a multi-modal onboarding program to meet rapid organizational growth. In 2018, I stepped into lead the Staff Learning team and was responsible for a team of 8. We focused on creating impactful learning experiences in onboarding, manager training, leadership development, and all staff retreats. This was the most incredible team I've ever been a part of.
In 2021, after 13 years at Year Up, I moved to a role in DEI learning and development with Momentive (maker of SurveyMonkey). This is my first role in tech and it's been really eye opening. I am on the Diversity & Social Impact team and collaborate with the Learning & Talent Development team to integrate DEI into all of our learning experiences.
