I'm energized at work by…

getting sh*t done.building stuffsolving problemshelping others succeed

I like solving problems and getting stuff done. How that happens is a healthy balance of personal time for creativity and deep thought, combined with collaborative work with other motivated people. I also get energized by connecting with people, finding common ground, and using my experience to help others in need.

People who have impacted how I see the 🌍

Theodore RooseveltJordan PetersonRick StrassmanSteve RinellaMarc AndreessenFyodor DostoevskyAleksandr SolzhenitsynFrederick Douglass

These people have made me think a lot about the human condition. What does it all mean? What values am I willing to stand for? How do I become a better person? How do I connect with the world, nature, and others? What am I capable of (in terms of both darkness and potential for good)?

How I try to show up at work

Hard WorkingAssertiveReliableCreativeOrganized

I like working in an efficient environment. Meetings are targeted, specific, and don't last longer than required. Standing meetings should be relatively rare and scheduled judiciously. I think excellence should be a core goal, but excellence doesn't need to be overcomplicated. It starts with the basics: reading directions, following instructions, be realistic about what you can accomplish, honor your commitments, communicate early and often (don't keep valuable info to yourself), document your findings, and consider how your decisions may be impacted in the future (i.e. does this scale?)
