I knew since my sophomore year of college I wanted to work in higher education, but my senior year I had a terrible experience with an advisor so I pivoted. After graduating from college, I accepted what I thought was my dream job advising Dance Marathon programs. I quickly realized how wrong I was. I hated my job and felt uncomfortable in my office- the person closest to my age was 46- we just didn't get each other. I left after one year to pursue my master's in school counseling. After one semester, I realized that I truly wanted to be in higher education so I applied to another school for the higher education program. I graduated in 2018, and accepted my first job at the University of South Carolina. I am currently in my 3rd role in the same office, but have been here ever since.
