How I try to show up at work

I like to make small improvements to processes. I have a lot of ideas and I get excited about them, so it helps me a lot to have a clear agenda for meetings so I don't get off track. I appreciate active listening and egoless collaboration. I like to provide direct feedback but if I sense a lot of defensiveness or pride around something I will usually pull back and try to re-evaluate how I can communicate with that person. I am a very "big picture" type person--if I'm coding a feature or managing a project, I like to know why and how it serves the company mission. It helps me to make decisions if I know the motivation.

I pay attention to remote culture. I notice if someone is quiet when they're usually talkative or if they suddenly stop turning on their camera. I ask people how they are and let them know I care about them. I try to help people with their careers, businesses, and lives because I care about them and want them to succeed.
