My biggest fear

Being unlovable, rejected, or unwantedHaving no meaning or being insignificant and mundane

Worklife: I want to be having an impact in everything I do, having limited or no impact in a very functional role is not for me. Personal life: Well while you are job hunting, especially now for more senior roles it takes more time and more rejections. Always brings with it an unerring sense of self-doubt.

Things that deeply motivate me…

Work to make the 🌎 a better placeBuilding something that will last

Am I lucky?

Everyones perspective is different

Depends on who you are comparing yourself to and in what context. In some respects, I have been fortunate to have been born and raised in the environment I have which has given me these opportunities. In other contexts, I have gone the long way round to get where I am due to some limitations. Everything is relative, everything is a personal perspective.

My happy place

Love the mountains and the oceans. Give me a board of some description and I am very happy.

I really admire teammates who are…

Two types: Technical geniuses and those the polar opposite to me

Technical roles are often those that actually make the product/business work. As a generalist, these individuals' discipline and focus in a single area to be very good is really impressive. I seek out in my team's people who are often not just different from me but polar opposites. I love working like this as they act as a balance, to give the alternative perspective and create a more rounded and harmonious team.

Typically cross-function collaboration in order to achieve strategic goals and work towards scalable solutions and automation.

My Achilles Heel is…

Honestly, frustration is the thing I find hardest to deal with

This only really surfaces when an issue reoccurs which is relatively simple but I do not have it in my control to change. Keep calm, work together to resolve the base issue, and have clear communication with actions to be taken and who is responsible to implement.

I'm energized at work by…

solving problemshelping others succeed

When I'm stressed, you might notice me…

Become a lot more animated, I love it when our back is against the wall

Keep things simple, work together to find quick solutions, and note the issue's root causes for later when we will modify or change processes to stop it from happening again.

Things I'd love to learn

SQL and Python

I believe all Ops leaders of the future should be able to query the business's data to test their theories and plans without needing to use developer/data team resources.

You will make my freakin day if you…

share a problemshare an idea

Love language for sure is a new challenge or idea.

I work best as a…

Strategist: I love managing projects. High-level strategy convos is where I show up best.

My core values

FunChallengeCreativityHonestyLearningMeaningful WorkOpenness

I learn best by…

doing it

So many things in start-ups and scale-ups that we have not done before. Just need to roll up the sleeves give it a crack and find our way through it, hardest part is starting.

How I try to show up at work

ImaginativeAnalyticalPersistentEnthusiasticCreative

I live for ideas and problems, the more fiendish the better, ever curious about new technologies and how they can solve these issues. I live off the energy of others and enjoy the pressure situations and thinking on my feet. I look to surround myself with personalities different from me to round off our perspectives and eliminate bias. Everyone is different and no one can be everyone so diversity is the key to a great team.

My areas for growth

Maintains effective work life balanceInvests and is interested in personal and professional growthCreates warm, caring relationships with teammates

Once I am into a problem I am all in and I need to make sure this is not at the behest of everything else. Be that my personal time and ensuring I socialise and spend time with the right people. Or be that personal development eg. ring-fencing time to learn SQL and Python. Being very fixed on the solution and the best way to achieve long-term success in line with a strategy I can see the world in a little black and white logic. As such I recently have been working on ensuring I consider the impact these decisions have on people rather than just the business. It is something I have really had to focus on being a leader in a business undergoing a very large redundancy process.

How I stand out

Maintains clear long term vision that drives decision makingMakes decisions promptly, even with uncertaintyStays composed throughout conflict or difficult situationsStays true to own values with integrityIntentional and strategic project planning

Systems view, being able to understand all the elements that make up the end-to-end process. Identifying inefficiencies and areas not aligned and creating solutions to fit the long-term mission and intent.
