Most fulfilling project I've worked on
There was a Grade 1 student who had to pick an animal for their first report ever. They chose salamanders, but we didn't have any salamander books, and neither did the public library.
Their teacher sent me an email letting me know that they'd get them to choose another animal and I replied with "Give me until tomorrow morning."
I then proceeded to stay up late to make a resource for the kid from scratch on salamanders, because if they wanted to do it on salamanders they should get to do it! According to their teacher, he kid was over the moon with their salamander resource and would carry it around everywhere. ("I'll never forget the look on his face when I gave him the resource" she said to me).
That super happy kiddo? That's exactly why I do my job. :)

I really admire teammates who are…
Willing to ask for help when needed, happy to volunteer to help others when they see someone needs help, and honest when they think something is/isn't working (it's hard to fix something if you don't know it needs fixing and good to know when something is!).

Helping others ❤️
I've always enjoyed helping others, and started volunteering in my community as young as 11 or 12 years old. It's largely what drew me towards librarianship -- you get to help others all day long.
