I like to get feedback when its given…
Constructive feedback: this is a skill that most people are still developing (receiving and delivering) -- it's ok if it's not perfect (what does that even mean?)
A few tips to consider:
- pause and think about how you'd like to receive the constructive feedback you want to deliver
- reach out to the person who you want to share constructive feedback with (slack/email) with a quick note asking them when/how you can share that ('hi! I'd like to share my perspective on x,y,z with you -- how would you prefer to receive this feedback/when and how do you prefer we do this?')
We're human, and tend to have varying preferences for receiving feedback that can change based on circumstance and environment. Taking that into consideration can go a long way in a healthy info-share 🙃
