A bit about me...

I spent the first part of my career working at top physical therapy clinics in San Francisco. During this time, I recognized that many of the injuries I was treating were preventable. As a doctor, biomechanical expert and orthopedic clinical specialist, I know the factors that lead to pain and injury and how to prevent them. I wanted to figure out a way to share that knowledge more broadly. I was also struggling with burnout working in the healthcare industry, and needed to find a way to apply my passion for prevention to a meaningful and fulfilling job. Working in downtown SF it was a logical step to work with innovative companies who were similarly focused on improving employee health and wellbeing. I started Marka Health in 2016 (with one client and one client only!) and began consulting onsite with companies wanting to become more health conscious and grow their wellness programs. During the pandemic, I started providing virtual services, which with the shift companies made towards working from home was a very lucrative pivot. We now offer virtual as well as in person services globally. Living amidst the bay area culture (and being married to an entrepreneur!) I understand the challenges of the modern worker AND the challenges of navigating the modern health & wellness landscape. As a medical provider, I value the autonomy and ability to spend direct one on one time with my clients and ongoing role in their journey. And as a woman and a mother, I value the ability to prioritize my family AND myself and have a flexible schedule. As an entrepreneur and business owner, I want to support individuals prevent needless pain and injury through our services, and to empower mothers and others in healthcare with our supportive job environment.
