What I'm like at work
Meetings with more than 5-6 people and no agenda are not effective or efficient. I believe that many decisions should be data driven but there is still room for "gut" feelings. Management should also place trust in reports and ensure they have the right vision of what is trying to be achieved. Too many companies do not devolve accountability effectively and senior management tend to micro-manage too much, taking away the sense of worth and ambition from the workforce.

I need to dedicate more time to the team as a whole. It's too easy to get bogged down in dealing with customers and seniors and direct reports without bringing the whole team along for the ride. Leadership is about instilling a common vision throughout the organisation so that you pull together in the same direction as one. It may be done in different ways but if the common goal is clear and synonymous, then results will follow. That will allow the customer and needs of the seniors to be dealt with in a much more efficient way and draws the best from the workforce whilst creating a sense of belonging and improves morale.
